A Tabla Player of well repute in West Bengal, India. His main expertise lies in the strong knowledge of theoretical besides the practical experience in playing Tabla specially in different vocal styles of Indian Classical Music. He has dedicated a considerable portion of his life for percussion music specially Tabla. At an early age, his strong affinity towards playing Tabla made his parents compelled to take him to Tabla maestro Pt. Jnan Prakash Ghosh and he was fortunate enough to be accepted. His intense ability and sincerity towards music inspired Pandit Ji and made him eligible to receive special guidance. He continued to gain knowledge for long four years.
After the sad demise of his first Guru he had continued his learning from Pt. Samar Saha. At present he is under the guidance of world renowned Tabla Player and eminent percussionist Pt. Abhijit Banerjee for more than 7 years as a serious learner. This was the turning point in his life. He re-started his journey with numerous local performances. One to one teaching with his guru has given the depth of Knowledge in the form of classical music. Besides learning classical style, he learnt specially the style of playing with Devotional music and folk music. He became the Honorable Life Member of the prestigious Calcutta Cine Musician’s Association and Calcutta Stage Performing Musician’s Welfare Association.
His expertise lies in playing traditional table in various Gharanas and his specialty lies in Farukhabad Gharana. His main expertise is in Indian Classical Music and devotional percussion art form, he has performed at major programs in West Bengal and outside.
Some of his major performances includes – in Kolkata venues like Birla Sabhaghar, Kalamandir, Madhusudhan Manch, Calcutta Club, Girish Manch, Star Theatre etc. He has also performed at Ramakrishna Mission, Baranagar; Yogodyan Ramakrishna Math, Kakurgachi; Udyanbati, Kashipur; Vedanta Math, Bidhan Sarani; Vivekananda Society, Manicktala. He is a regular perform on R-plus Channel, Srijan TV Channel, Concuss Channel etc.
